Mr, J. C. Macdonald, of Wellington, lias been appointed judge of tho piping and 1 dancing events at the Caledonian Sports to be held hereon Thursday, April 10. A sliarp shock-of earthquake was felt in Carterton on Sunday evening between 5.30 and G o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. W. 11. Baillie, of Carterton, are 'spending a fortnight's holiday in the liotorua district. Messrs. 11. '51. Boddington and W. 11. Baillio will represent-'the Wairarapa Egg Circlo at the New Zealand'Poultry-Con-ference, which opens 'at Auckland this week. - Tho local branch of tho Wairarapa Caledonian Society: has accepted' tho tender of Mr. E.'Patrick, Carterton, > for the . luncheon booth at tho sports meeting to bo held hero on April -10, and that of Mr. -liill for tho fruit Mall.
