LIVE STOCK SALES.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Aj;cncy Company, Ltd., report on their •weekly sale, held in tho Yards, Paliiatua, on Tuesday, when they offered a trood yarding of sheep and a medium entry of cattle. Stock throughout met with a dull sale, many vendors preferring to hold their stock rather than accept the prices offering, which ran as follow:—Twotooth owes, 13s.' 6d.; nsctl ewes, 4s. Gd. to &3. Bd.; lambs, ss. to fo.; dairy .heifers, £4 10s. to £7; dairy cows, £6; heifers m calf, to £3 lis.; weancr steers, 25c?.; yearling steers, 465.; bulls, £3 to £5 ss. The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Oompany, Ltd., report having: held 'tneir monthly sale in I their Wairairo yards on Thursday, when they offered a good yarding of sheep and a 6mall entry of cattle to a small attendance of farmars. Prices were on a par witli those ruling in other centres, and a good clearance at tho following Tates is reported:— Sheep: Two-tooth ewes, lis. "4d.; , lyixed two-tooths, 10s. 6d.; f.m. ewes, 4s. 9d., ss. Id., to 7g. ; old eweu, 2s. 9d. to 3s. 6d.; mixed lambs, 4s. Id., £s. 2d., to- 7s. 2d.; small lambs, 3s. to 3s. 6d.; Lincoln rams, 165., 17s. 6d., to £1 35.; steers,'£l ss.

Sheep sold at fair rates, but cattle met with a dragging sale. Quotations:— Sliecp: Oull ewes. -4s: lOd.; Gtore ewes, 6s. 9d„ 7s. 3d., 7a. sd„ f.m. ewes Bs. 9d.. to 9s. Sd.; four-tooth .ewes, 12s. 9d.; cull lambs, 45.; store lamlis, 6s. 6d. to 75.; rams, IDs. to lis. Cattle: Wcancrs, 21s. to 355.; yearling steers, £2 3s. 6d.; wcaner heifers (good), £2 16s. 6d.; forward cows. £3 ,16s. 6d.heifers, in calf, £2 16s. 6d.; bulls, £3 2s. 6d.
