' PUBLIC NOTICES, ■ \ BOROUGH OF ONSLOW. ] PROPOSED SPECIAL LOAN OF .218,000: j fTVHE Council of the Borough of Onslow hereby givo public notice that such Council .proposes to borrow by way of ' Special loan within the meaning of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908," the sum of ,£IB,OOO for the following purposes, all being in and for the benefit of the defined part of the Borough of Onslow hereinafter mentioned. >. 1 £ e. d. The construction of waterworks within the meaning of the Municipal Corporation Act, 1908 (including reticulation pipes), and engineering and contingencies iii connection with such works (including-compensa-tion, if any, for.land injuriously affected) 15,520 0 0 Purchase of meters for measuring quantity of water supplied from such waterworks 930 0 0 Balance compensation for land already taken for waterworks purposes .as aforesaid and expenses in connection therewith 1,200 0 0 Fencing land so taken . 350 0 0 .£IB,OOO 0 0 In tho alternative and if tho consent of tho ratepayers is not obtained to the above, proposal, the Council .proposes to borrow by way ,of special loan as abovementioned, the sum of ,£IOOO for the purposes of paying balance compensation for land taken and expenses as above-mention-ed, and fencing land so taken as above- ! mentioned, which purposes aro in and for the benefit of the said defined part of the Borough, ' The defined part of the Bqropgh abovementioned consists of the wholo of < tho Ngaio Ward, of the whole of the Khandallah Ward of the Borough excepting tho parts of Sections 93, 94, 127, and 128 Ohariu District contained in the, said Ward and that, portion of the Kaiwarra Ward of tho Borough comprising 'roughly the North-Westem half of tliijt part, and w,hic.h defined, part is tho same part as is referred notice dated tho 24th day of February, 1908, published in tho Government Gazette of 20th February, 1908, as to,the carrying of a proposal for a Special Loan of U24500 for the put-pose of'payment of compensation for landstaken for waterworks in the Borough. It is proposed in the case of either loan to provide an annual sum equal to one jkt centum of the. amount borrowed as a sinking fund for the repayment of tho loan, and that the whole of the loan will be repayable at. the expiration of 41 years from the Ist day of April, 1913, or at an earlier date.

The Council proposes to pledge as security for tho said loan of .£IB,OOO, aiul tho interest thereon and the sinking fund, a special rate in accordance with tho above Statute, estimated at 1 5-32 d. in two pound on tho rateable value (on the basis of tho unimproved value) of all rateable property within the said defined part of tho Borough of Onslow. /.
