I have to pay four thousand per centum preference, I am-prepared to do it. This country is tho offspring of Great Britain, and this Government has no regard for tarif£ considerations or other matters when it comes to a question of extending our relations with the Mother Country. The Australian Government has no ' ill-feeling-against 1 manufacturers of other countries, but all tho Gams it would pay a thousand per- contum and even more .to get things ! made ..where our own flesh ana blood will reap. .tho benoflt."
