AND THE CITIZENS' CARNIVAL^ "I think it very regrettable that some of tlio bands in this city should lwvo htmed down this committee." said Mr. A. l'aapel at the meeting of Iho general connnilico of the Citizens' Carnival last evening, nnrojios of the_ musical arrangemeniU—t,lie city bands which havo consented to assist arc the Tramways Band and the riftli Regiment Band. Mr. Paape pointed out that something over 3000 peoplo were exerting themselves in the interests of tlio carnival, and, considering the fact that theso bands wore subsidised by the corporation, the least Hint might have been expected was that they would have come forward to assist. This protest was endorsed by various "Hear, hears."
