It was decided tlmt, ns recommended by tlio Tramways Board of- Management. the request of the United Labour party that workers' concession tickets bo issued oil all holidays, be not acceded to. The application of illie car painters at. the Newtown car shed for an increase in their wages wns not acceded to. The Tramways Committee reported that they had received a letter ' from the Under-Secretary of Public Works stating that the Minister could not sen his way to accedo to tho request of the council that: tho tramway shelter shed, to be erected opposite the Government Buildings, bo placed within 'the Government grounds. The offer of Mr. Tuclnvcll, on behalf of the residents of Thorndon, tx> donate two seats to be placed in Anderson Park, in commemoration of the Into Councillor Anderson, wns accepted with thanks, and tho council decided to supplement the gift by providing (wo additional seats. On tho'recommendation of tho Reserves Committee, it ,was agreed that tho bathing sheds for men and for women at Evans Bay be interchanged. A report is being obtained as to the cost of extending tho present shed.
