Hardly a sitting of the Petone Magistrate's Court goes bv without a batch of Territorials being fined- for obstructing and failing to attend parades. In fact, tho incident is quite looked upon now as the usual monotonous item of the regular court day. Wednesday was no exception to the rule, and a number were dealt with.' Lieut. Cooper, on behalf of the Department, asked for the maximum penalty as defendants had been beforo the Court befqro. The defendants wcro dealt with as follow:—Herbert Hewsdn, fined lGs.', in default 48 hours; Horace Nunn, fined £\, in default soven days; Thomas Stephens, fined £2, in default seven days; J. L. Banks, fined 10s.; C. Heppend, fined £1; Norman Wollett, fined Pointon, fined £I.' T. W. Jenkins and S! J. Bland were convicted and discharged. Both furnished a satisfactory excuse. \ i"
