Hatchbank (31823), bred by Mr. ander- Muirhead, Hatchbank, Kinross, and gdt;By. the .champion ' Eevelanta (11876), one of .the most consistent sires in the Old' Country, and out of Jean of Tillyochie (28724); by the stallion Brooklyn (6547), for which the sum of .£7OO was paid, with Kate, of Tillyochie,, by the noted Jordanshaw (33J3), as grand-dam, and Miss of Tillyochie, by Farmer's Fancy (802), as ; great-grand-dam. Mattie... of Hatchbank, it is stated, has a big, squareframe -with a .fine depth of rib, and her legs are of-the best order, having lots of tho flat flinty bone bo much appreciated in the Clydesdale, while her ankles and r feet are true to . draught type. Todd, Blackmoss,- Strathaven,-the yearling filly Nancy Young (31828), by Apukwa (14567), out of Flora of East Grange (24470), by Baronson. (10891), the sire of the Cawdor Cup champion , Oyama (13118), 'with Black Bess, by St. Stephen (7231) as grand-dam, and Bessy of Gallin Cottage, by Prince Victor (G52), as; a great-grand-dam. Apukwa is perhaps one of the best- breeding sons of the: fereat-Hiawatha, whiclf won the Cawdor 'Cup''on'four occasions. ' Jilr.'Alex'.
