Prince Katsura (the Japanese Premier), in an interview, stated that the new Cabinet is pledged to retrenchments. Its foreign policy is based on the AngloJapanese Alliance, and supported by the "ententes" with Russia and Prance.

The Prince added that tlie friendliness of the Alliance With Britain had not suffered the slightest diminution.
