EXPLOSION AT PANAMA. MERELY A PRIVATE . AFFAIR. Br Telcerajpi—Press Association—Copyrlfcht Vancouver, December 28. Advices from Panama state that fifteen minutes after President Taft had passed along a street bound to a ball an explosion occurred in a park opposite the chief hotel.
,It is'belief ed to have been an attempt on' Mr.- Taft's life, biifc. that the explosion, occurred prematurely. \ .■ ,
The Government explains that the explosion destroyed a new stand and was not/connected with Mr. Taffs visit, but was /merely' an incident of private vengeance between, two business rivals.
