RIFLE SHOOTING.
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. Arrangements for the Wellington championship meetings, to be held at Trentham on January 1 and 2,' are well in hand. Entries are now coming in from Napier, Taranaki, and Canterbury, and a keen contest is assured. Further donations to the funds are to hand from the following: Mrs. J. G. Nowtown, Liout.Colonel Mackintosh, Lieufc.-L. Hugo, Mr. W. H. D. Bell, Mr. J. P. Luke, and Mr. W. Nidd. Arrangements have been made with the Union Company that competitors travelling to this meeting will receive a rebate of fifteen per cent, on the ordinary return fares. Satisfactory arrangements have also been made with the Railway Department. On the trains leaving Lnmbton Station at 6.40 a.m. on January 1, and 7.8 a.m. on January 2, special:carriages will be reserved for competitors, who will, therefore, without waiting for tickets, simply take their places in tho carriages. This will prevent crowding both at the ticket office and on the platform. The secretary will distribute the tickets on the train.
