$ (By Telo»rapli.—Press Association.) Auckland, December 9. Another fine Government building lias been completed in Auckland. It is the new Public Trust Office in Albert Street •' which was handed over to the Department on Friday last. Tho building, which is earthquake-proof and fire-proof, cost over ,£22,000 to erect. It 'presents a fine solid appearance, and tho frontage to :Albert. Strfot shows excellent architecture. The Corinthian style haslb?en adopted. Four massive pillars extend from top to bottom of the" building and deeply set-in windows, surmounted by arches and para- ' pecs, give the building a striking appearance. ■ Tho construction of the building has been based on a plan commonly adopted in America for tho erection of verv 1 high structures. The frame is of steel, and the foundations . are firmly established by the use of concrete piles driven into the ground. The strength' of the building has thus been elaborately provided for.
