MEETING OF CREDITORS.
DENTIST'S AFFAIRS. • The Official Assignee (Mr. A. Simpson) presided over a meeting of'the creditors in, the bankrupt estate of George Pudney, dentist, of Wellington, yesterday. . Mr. T. N. Holmden appeared for the bankrupt. In his sworn statement •. bankrupt said that he had. practised in Wellington for a period of thirty years, with the.exception of the years 1910 and 1911, when ho was at Hastings'. During the time of. depression' in Wellington his business had seriously suffered; his private residence had been burned down (the insurance not covering half ,the value), and while' in Hastings for five months he had suffered from blood poisoning. Ho returned to Wellington, and go on fairly well, but he was again attacked by blood -poisoning. As a result his business fell off. Bankrupt related his trials at length, and said that to keep things .going, he- had-to) part with allbut th'e'batest neces'sitieS'iri the' way of furniture.' His family and him,self. had lived as economically as possible. Bunkrupfs financial' statement showed :— Unsecured creditors,' ,£l2O IGs. 10d., and assets (including stock-in-trade) MO, leav.inc a deficiency , of ',£30.105.; lOd. . Tho principal unsecurrd creditors were:—New, Zealand.Express Company, £U 10s.; Hult and Petone "Chronicle,". ,£10;-Wellington Loan Company, 2s. Bd.;. Dresden Piano Company, ,£ls'los.-; Public Trustee (as agent for landlord), J3ll. •It was unanimously decided that after satisfying the secured creditor (Public' Trusted nominally) the balance of ■ the estate ho handed to the bankrutit, and that bankrunt be recommended for.his discharge. The annual exhibition of the work done durine the past 'year by the' students of the Wellington Technical School ••is now nn view in 'the building, in ATe'n? ■ rSt'w 1 . Taken as a whole, much of the work is T>f high order, and thoroughly deserves the expressions of appreciation. made by the visitors yesterday. It is. of cour?j. of a varied nature. One section is laid out in art, another in nature and design, sewing and embroidery work, and practical pursuits. The art section thsi year contains the work of some very proinis 7 ing students. In the nature and design section the exhibitions show a distinct advance on those of last. year. The woTk of K. M./Ballantyne, Nelson Isaacs, E. Dawson,. Mary, Green, and L. Foster. ,is'particulnrly*good. Students of practical 'pursuits,'such as plumbing, engineering, and cabinet-making, are also much in evidence. The exhibition will be open this morning, afternoon, and evening.
