WELLINGTON RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
At a meeting of the executive committee of the Wellington Rifle Association, tlio resignation of Mr. H. O. Browne (Karon Riflo Club) as secretary, was received with great regret. Mr. Browne, who has gono-into business for liimself in Whangarei, was accorded a hearty voto of thanks for his services to tho association. The association was fortunate in PMiirinp tho services of Lieutenant C. Gnsquoine, a capable and . enthusiastic officer of the Fifth Regiment, who will now act as secretary and treasurer. Reports to hand showed that donations had Mime in,more freely than was expected, and a very satisfactory position , was shown. Advice was received that teams from Christchurch, Blenheim, Nelson, Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa,and Mana.wntu, would compete, so that the Wellington tcuma will. need- to'' be •on "their ■ 'mettle to uphold tho honour of the Empire City. A cadet team from Woodville also signified its intention of trying- conclusions with the local boys in the Senior Cadet champion teams match; ,
