Tho reinsurances aggregato £84,621 19s. 10d., tho losses totalled £69,055 15s. 2d., and with the various items of expenditure the total amounted to £212,852 14s. 3d., lcavinsj a surplus of £39,314 115..5 d., which the directors have allocated as follows:—Added to reserve fund, £5000, making that fund £147,000; dividend of 10 per cent, and bonus of 2J per cent, absorb £10,675 6s. 3d.; leaving £23,639 sa. 2d. to, be carried forward. The first wool sale of tho season was held hero to-day. The offerings totalled just on 1000 bales, of which 924 were sold under tho ' lßDimor. Tho general condition of the wool was tho best seen for years. American operators were the keenest, then the Dominion Woollen Milk. The Bradford buyers limits appeared to be. below those of the.Dominion and American buyon=: Compared with 1911 the wool is Jd. to 3d. better value on account of greater soundness, longer staple, and liglitnera in grcaso. Tho | actual difference in prices works out about 2d. per lb. all round in favour of this reason.
