Mas'sey) -tO" inquire. into,;'. ■ the agreement , which had been, come to" in respect to the bagging of cement between New Zealand manufacturers and' the' Federation of Labour, which was said to have been inimical to the interests of. . importers of cement from overseas. In his reply the Minister said:—'ln- : quiries have been' made into the matter, 1 - and it is; found, that no breach of tho law has taken place,. as, under tho Com--. ■ ■ mercial Trusts Act, cement is not one of 1 'the classes of goods specified. I may say;..- ' however, that it is, the intention of tiio ■ ■ Government to revise.this Act during the; 1 forthcoming recess, with a view to the ex- '■ tension of its provisions." • On the letter being read at yesterday's . 1 meeting of the council nf the .Chamber of, Goriitnerce it.was iesolved that tio further action be- taken. ■'
