SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for cloudy, and misty weather, with heavy • rain in parts with rivers rising. Snow is probable on higher levels in the south. High westerly winds are probable northwards ol Farewell Spit and Castlepoint, and Bouthorlies and south-easterlies elsewhere. The barometer is due to rise temporarily in the southern districts, but fall again shortly. Cloudy and r.hangea-hle weather prevailed on Saturday and Sunday.' but rain fell in many parts on Sunday night, when a, cyclonic system developed, and is now centred southward of Goo'a Blrait.
