BOXING.
THE 'TEDDERS" ON SHOW. A boxing tournament is being promoted at the Town Hall on Saturday and Monday next by tho Wellington Association. It is intended on the first night to put on two ten-round bouts between four feather-weights selected from among tho best at present in tho Dominion. Theso will include, Ellis, Thompson, Robinson, and either Goodman, of Dunedin, or Crawford, of Gisborno. On tho second .night tho final will bo contested between tho first nights winners, over fifteen rounds, while tho two defeated men will contest a ten-round bout. In addition thero will be one or two interesting amateur preliminaries each evening. Ellis and Thompson are both well known as local exponents of good standing, while Robinson has lately settled at Gisborne after having put in some time in Australia, where he lias defeated many of the best in his class. Goodman is an old opponent of both Thompson's and Ellis's, he having drawn with the former and defeated the latter. Owing to an injured hand there i 9 some doubt about his being fit to compete, in which case ho will be replaced either by Crawford, of Gis[.borne, or Penally, of Christcburch. The plan opens to-morrow morning. BANTAM CHAMPIONSHIP. (Rec. October 22, 10.45 p.m.) London, October 22. At the National Sporting Club "Digger" Stanley defeated Lafferty, the Scotch champion, on points in twenty rounds, winning the bantam championship and JMOO.
