Mr. P. Fox, who has been appointed assistant-engineer to the Petone Borough Council during the construction of the sewerage scheme, took up duty yesterday. An "open night" will lx> held at tho Petono" Technical School this evening, when the public will have an opportunity of seeing the classes at work. Tho l'ctone Ambulance Van Committee will hold their annual meeting shortly. Tho monthly gathering ot the Ilutl Valley No-License League was held at l'ctone last evening. The Rev. Mr. Coltom occupied the chair. A programme of musical and other items was. given by lecal residents, and there were also several speeches.
