Some five weeks ago a man named DaI vid Lynn, employed as cook on the steamer ' Gertie, disappeared at Foxton. His body was found yesterday at Hartley's Bend in the Manawatu River, near Foxton. An advertisement elsewhere in this issue states., tliat -Messrs. Gillies and Nalder will hold a horse fair at the Dominion Horse Bazaar, Hawcra, on October 11 and 12. A reminder is given by Messrs. The Wellington City Council aunounco that Jupp's Band will give n performance at Island Bay to-night at 8 o'clock. A sale of first-class dairy cows will be conducted at Mr. T. Twomey's farm, Gear Island, Lower Hutt, on October 2, by Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd.
