STIMULATING THE CHILDREN'S I INTEREST. J
Tho Industrial Corporation of Now Zca« land decided yesterday to endeavour^ to make use of the School Journal for stinn ulating child interest in New Zealand m« dusfry. ' , „ _ , r , ■ An Auckland delegato (Mr. &., J. Harbutt) brought the matter up. He said that tho suggestion bad recently been mado in Auckland, and it was there considered to be an excellent idea. It was calculated to stimulate interest in, Now Zealand's industries, and much good should ensue if an nrticlo conccrimiff some industry were published in every number of the School Journal. Ihcso articles should imbue the children with 1 an idea of the importance of New Zealand industries. , Messrs. J. V. Luke (Wellington) and T. Ballingcr (Wellington) supported the proposal. It was resolved that representations should ho made to the Editor- of the School Journal requesting that articles • on New Zealand industries should bo published in cverv number of the journal. It. was mentioned that the Auckland! and the Wellington Industrial Associations had donated prizes for "compelw tion" essays on the subject of the in-, dustries. ■'
