SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications aie for easterly winds, strong to gale, backing to southcr- ' lies in most, parts of the country; cloudy and unsettled weather with rain probable generally, and especially on the Bast Coast and northern districts of the North Island. The barometer still. shows a falling tendency, but is . due to rise everywhere soon. A cyclonic system still rules in the north, and heavy rain has fallen northward- of East Cape and Kawhia. Easterly winds, strong to gale, have been reported in tho north, gloomy weather and moderate to strong cast to south-easterly breezes have prevailed elsewhere, and a falling barometer everywhere. D.
