GRUESOME FIND.

A WALTER STItEET MYSTERY. At 3.30 o'clock this afternoon, Dr. M'Arthur, S.M., will open tin inquiry into a case which is at present somowhat mysterious. On Monday evening it was discovered that Mary Ann Norman and .Georgo C-aton were lying dead in -house 2\o. 18 Waller. Street, and it. transpired subsequently that they had Ixwn dead for about a day before the discovery. 1 '■' Caton nnd Norman had been living in Hanson Street, but on Saturday last they ronioved to 18 Walter Street. An occupant of one of the neighbouring housesremembers seeing their furniture being taken into the houso at about 4 o'clock oil Saturday, afternoon, but states that he did not seo either of them or hear any noise in the house after that. At half-past eight on ' Monday night, William A\ alter Crumpe, a Newtown dairyman, who is a. son-in-law of Norman, called at 18 Walter Street'. He entered by an unlocked door, nnd made the gruesome discovery of tho double fatality. Caton was on tho floor,' and Norman in bed. Both had been vomiting, and it is supposed that death had been occasioned by poisoning, resulting from some irritant mutter, which- had probably been partaken of for supper on Saturday night. Dr. Henry, who examined'the bodies, expressed tho opinion that life had been extinct for about 2-1 liotirs. A post-mortem was held yesterday, and an analyst lias since been engaged on the case. ..
