The Hon. Jas. Allen returned from Auckland yesterday by Main Trunk express. Tho Public Trustee is the executor of the late Mr. T. G. Macarthy's will. Mr. H. N. Blight, contractor, of Hastings, is a visitor to Wellington. Mr. W. M'Kenzie has resigned the position of travelling representative of The Dominion as from the end of the present month, having neceptcd an appointment to a responsible position on the Sydney "Daily Telegraph." Mr. A. I;. Maysmor, who, for somo years has been connected with The Dominion commercial department, succeeds Mr. M'Kon7,ie. Mr. Prank Sterling, manager of tho Adelphi Theatre, AVillis Street, intends to leave on a trip to America in October. Tho Hon. T. W. Hislop, who has been laid up for a few days with a severe cold, was ablo to attend at his office for an hour or two yesterday. The sympathy of tho Wellington Hospital Board was yesterday extended to Mrs. T. G. M'Carthy in her recent bereavement. The chairman (Mr. Jas. Trevor) referred to tho practical and generous assistance which had been extended by Mr. M'Cartliy 111 connection with tho raising of funds for tho Children's Hospital.
