Moderate to strong easterly winds are. probable northward of .East Cape and Kawhia, and westerly to south-westerly winds elsewhere, but strong In Foveaux Strait. Little movement of the barometer indicated at present. Cool and changeable weather has been experienced generally, with scattered showers. Shannon, August 20,-rEain fell on Monday night. Tuesday was mild and dull. Otaki, August 20.—A very fine day. \ Carterton, August 20.—Mild weather prevails. ; Greytown, August 20.—A very fine day. Featherston, August 20.—Fine, bright sunshine. Maaterton, August 20.—Another bright spring day. Hastings, August 20—The weather to-day has beon warm and springlike.
