SUPREME COURT.
, GORDON V. N.Z. TIMES CO. Atr. Justice Sim yesterday delivered re* served decision in an interlocutory matter in connection with, the case of Gordon v. the 2v.Z. Times Co., Ltd., an action claiming .£ISOO for alleged libel. His Honour allowed four of tko interrogatories mid disallowed seven of them. By the decision the defendants are called on'to state what inquiries they made as to the truth of the matters contained in the alleged libel, and also to state what was the occasion of a certain "test" referred to in connection with the case. In disallowing three, of the interrogatories, his Honour referred'to the fact that similar interrogatories to those asked for had been, allowed in the case of Hoben v. the "Rangitikei Advocate," but it appeared to him that the case o£ Ileaton v. Cioldnoy (sufficient authority for disallowing) had not been cited in. that case. Mr. JE. P. Bunny appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. D. 11. Findlay for the defendant company.
