MOTOR COLLISION.
A DOCTOR'S SON INJURED. ! A rather serious accident, which seemed to be pure misadventure as far as tho parties wero concerned, took place at the junction of Conrtenav Place and Lower Taranaki Street at aooiit 1.20 p.m. on Saturday. Mr. Rciide, of Lower Ilutt, was driving down. Taranaki Street, intending to proceed down Lower Taranaki Street to Jervois Quay, when a tramcar, bound east along Courtcnay Place, approached, and as Mr. Readc could sco that it was. slowing up to stop at the usual place, he made to pass in front of the car at a reduced rate of speed. Just as he crossed the track a motor-cycle, driven by. Mr. Guy Perkins, son of Dr. Perkins, of Revans Street, shot out from behind the tramcar, which had obscured its approach from Mr. Reade, with the result that tho motor-car crashed-into the motor-cyclo on the crossing outsido the Eguiout Private Hotel. The' motor cyclist vns thrown to the ground, and both machine and driver were dragged along tho ground for a few feet before the motor-car/ could 'bo pulled up. Mr. Perkins was (struck heavily upon the leg, between the ankle and tho knee, and the result was a very severe flesh wound and fracture of the small bono of the leg. He was at onco conveyed to the Manners Street, Police Station, where his injuries were.attended to by Dr. Herbert. Later he was removed to his home in lievans Street. Neither the motor-car nor cycle was seriously damaged.
