Only 500 secured employment at tlio Tilbury and Surrey Docks to-day. Several newspapers commcnt on. the inability of tlio leaders to control the strikers, and suggest that tlio men's determination. to continue the strike is due. to tlio fact that they have no work to return to. Eight thousand stevedores have decided to resume. ' Tlio Strike Committee mot to-day. Recriminations were freely exchanged. Mr. Orhell, secretary of tlio Dockers' Union, stales:—"Wo dare not adhero to Saturday's decision. The men would have our blood if wo advised them to surrender."
