MASTERTON GUN CLUB.

(By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) : Masterton, Julj- 18. The Masterton Gun Club held a'match for a XIOO stake on the old show grouuds to-day. There were forty-ono competitors, representing the best shots'in. the Dominion. The weather was. wretchedly bad, and the pigeons were slow to rise. The first prize was secured by Arthur lorns, who shot the whole of'his fourteen birds. The following seven competitors divided second money, with thirteen birds each:—S. Jensen (Cartwton). T. H. Harvey (Mairorton), F. F. Fonwick (Fentherston), C. F. Sidey (Pahiatua), H. '.T, Dyke (Marti nborough), G. E. Forman (Napier), nnd 1,. E. Meads (Kangitikei). A championship clay-bird match is to be fired to-morrow. ■
