Dr. Wood came out to. New Zealand via Me bourne direct from London. Ho has : had a considerable amount of experience of home mission work, and the social sido of church effort in (he parish of St. Andrew s, Bethnal Green, but for tho past live years and a half ho has been in charge of tho parish of Wimbledon, South,! London, in which are flvo churches. Dr. J Wood is 37 years of age, and single. Hβ? was burn in London and educated at St.: Paul's School and Poterliouse, Cambridge,! a scholar of both school nnd ; college, and' tho winner of classical Honours. i The Bishop expects to sail from Svdneyj for Norfolk IslUnd on August 1, and in.l Septcinljer the Southern Cross will convey* \ him round the island, after which he will take up his residence at tho new See head-f quarters, shifted from Norfolk Island tor the Solomons.
