Tho deputation put forth arguments in favour of the levy being made towards the Waihi strike fund, and two propositions wero then placed before tho meeting—ono that a levy, of 2s. per week should bo made, and tho other Chat, in« stend of a levy being made, a sum of. £60 shculd bo paid outright to the Waihi strike fund. Later a complication aroee, iind the committee, of the Drivers' Union decided,' by six votes to four, to veto the decision of tho union, putting forth as a mam that it was not definitely known whether members could legally vote- ,£GO out cf their funds.
