A big house was present at the Adelplii Theatre on Saturday night, when n very successful programme was presented for tiie last time. A complete change is announced for to-night and for the current week. A picture, entitled "The Carbonari," holds prido of place, and is described as beinu an exceptionally strong dramatic film. Jt tells of the famous beauty Princess Spadda, and of tlio doings of one of thosa secret societies with which Italy is generally suppled to bo infested. Strong support is given by two A.B. pictures, one a comedy and the other a dramatic episods called "Justice of tlio Desert." Aiioth.:r film likely to bo well received is "The Fflinale of the Species," .'which comes from the well-known Vitagraph Company. Taken all round, this week's ■programme appears to bo'weil up to tlio standard set by this house. 'The Adslphi Ladies' Orchestra will play new and popular selections during the evening. On Friday evening next, the Adelplii ma-ked male iiuartot will make (heir initial bow to the Wellington public. Members of tlic quartet are nil well-known resident* of Wellington, and the management, succeeded in securing their services on tlio understanding that no one. save-the management should know their identity. The idea of having o»o musical item during the evoniiisr comes from America, and, over in that homo of living pictures, these items are termed "eye-restev-'." At present it is the intention of the Adelplii management only lo have this item once a week, but should it be found to be received favourably they will be introduced every evening.
