SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications arc fsr aold and stormy weather overywhere soon. Rain ' ia probable generally, with snow ,on higher levels. The wind will probably increase again shortly, and liig-li eoutherlies predominate. The barometer is now due to rise everywhere, and high for a Bhort time, but another westerly area of low pressure is duo to pass in tho south about tho middle of next week. The weather has been generally overcast and unsettled, with rain in parts. The winda havo been westerly, with a southerly tendency, and strong to galo in parts at times, but havo decreased to-day. Tho barometer has been vory unstoady—falling in tho north and rising and falling again in tho south. D. 0. BATES. Meteorological Office, Wellington, Juno 28, 1912. DISTRICT REPORTS. (From Our Special Correspondents.) Wanganui, June 28.—Heavy rain in forenoon; dull afternoon; further rain probable. Fcilding, Juno 28.—Bainy day and dubious outlook. Palmereton, June 28.—Heavy rain fell to. day, but cleared about U o'clock. Tho weather was fino afterwards. Shannon, Juno 28.—Heavy rain fell on Thursday night; Friday dry and cold. Feathers ton, Juno 28.—Overcast and threatening, southerly breeze. Greytown, Juno 28.—Raining steadily all da#. MoMcrton. Juno 28.—T0-day was cloudy and oold; further rain threatened.
