LIVE STOCK SALES.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Ltd., and lieduced (I'eilding branch), report for t.lie week ending June 28, as follows:—At Feilding 011 Friday, we had a heavy yarding of elieep and a representative yarning of cattle. Prices for ewes in lamb increased on lnet week's selling, while hoggets were keenly competed for, these showing a marked rise in price during the week. Several buyers from the Main Trunk line were present, and bought freely. With the exception of two pens we cleared our entry. Store cwfis, 7s. 6d.; forward ewes, 12s. 6d.; light fat ewes, 125.; eivts in lamb to liomncy rams, IDs. lid.; better do., to 123. 9d.; mixed age ewes in lamb, lis. to 12s. Id.; others, 14s. to Us. 2d. A nice lie 2 of 305 ewe hoggets, on account of J. Linklatcr, made 14s. sd. The v.-ether hoggets from the same place made l?s. lCd. Other lioggets, 125., 13c. 2d. to 13s. 9d.; small hoggets, lis. 6d. Cattle: ID-months heifers, £3; empty cows, £2 17s. 6d.; forward cows, ..£4 135.-6 d.; dairy cows, £5 155.; backward calvcrs, £3; better, to £4 sh;. hulls, £3. At Jfr. O'Neill's clearing sale at Itongotea, held on June 25, there was a. large attendance of buyers. Cows were well competed for. the highest making £17, the sale of the whole herd resulting in making a substantial a-vorage. Pigs, horse". ■ implements, nnd sundries all'sold at full market rates. At .Messrs. Smith llros.'s nale, held at Colyton. in roniuncti'on with Messrs. Gorton and Son., Ltd.. and Dnlgety and Co., Ltd., on June 26. there wa~: a. large attendance of buyers. The ewes were in particularly good condition, an a.lso was all the rest of the stock. 128 4 and 5-year ewes, 195.: 13.4C0 19s. 5d.; 212 4 and 6-tooth ewes, 225. Id.; 165 owe hoggets, 14s. 9d.; 234 2-tootli ewes, 225. 4d.; 224 mixed hoggets, lis. 3d.; 28 cull lioggets, lis. 6d.; 8 ewes, 13s. Bd.; 24 wethers, 17s. 2d.; rams, to £2 25.: steers, £3 17s. to £4; cows, £5 15s„ £7 to £8; hackward cows, £5 12s. fid.; springing licifers, £6 to £8 155.; yearling steers. 355.; forward cows £4 Is.; 2-year steers, £4 135.; store cows. £3 10s.: yearling Jersey cross heifers, £3 3f. to £3 ss. 6d.; small weaners, 16s. 6d.; discoloured steers, £3 Is.; horses, sundries, etc., made a useful rate.
Messrs. Dalgety nnd Co. report:—At our fortnightly stock «ile yesterday we offered a fair yarding of both sheep and cattle. Sheep sold in advance of last sale. Fat ewes, 14s. to- 14s. 9d.; ewes in la.mb. lis. to 14s. Cd.: 4-tooth store wethers, 15s. 6(1. Cattle p-old well. Fat lmllocks. to £K 155.-, fat cows. £5 to £5 75.: dairy cow, un to £5; dairy licifel'S, .£5 10s.; i.veor-old steers, £6 12s. Gd.: yearlings, £2 12s. fid.
