AEAHUHA ON TEE COAST. ■ The Arahtira, left Greyniouth on Monday night for Westport, where she arrived at 1 o'clock yesterday moriiinff. She wtt Westport again at 8 a.m. yesterday for Nelson; and after calling at Picton she comes on to Wellington. The vessel will probably arrive early this evening.
Compared with the majority of large sailing ships noiv voyaging across the seas, the German vessel Orla, which has been posted missing at Lloyd's, was a fairly modern craft, having been-launched soih.j eleven years ago on the Clyde (says an English exchange). The Orla has disappeared with ail on board while engaged on a, voyage across tho South Pacific. On October 16 last sho took her departure from Newcastle, New South Wales, for Coquimbo, on the West Coast, of South America. Nothing has been heard of her since she out to S2a, and weeks ago sho was given up sis lost. Under ordinary circumstances she ought to have arrived at her destination in December.
' Cablo advices received recently at Sydney state that the four-mostcd barque Loch Cajrron, which left Melbourne'on January 12 for London, with a. general cargo, iias not yet arrived, and ha 3 been re-insured at 6 per cent.
About June 10, the Tyser liner Indrsilema is to leave New York for Melbourne, .Sydney, Auckland, Wellington, and southern ports. The Star of the South, another of tip same company's steamers, is to lcavo New York on -May 25 for Ksw Zealand ports, via Melbourne and Sydney.
Mr. n. Winslow joined the Warrimoo at Dunedin as chief officer in place of Mr. J. Byan, who has gone ashore on holiday leave.

Captain J. B. Allsep has taken command of the Pctone in place of Captain J. Millmen, who was acting-master.
It was anticipated oa Monday that the scow Ngaiu, which went ashore, at North Head, K'awhia. on May 6, would soon be refloated. It is thought the vessel is in a safe position, and there are evidently good prospects of getting her off.
Mr. B. M'Gill, chief engineer of the K'ntawa., who has beeu on holiday leave, has rejoined the vessel. Mr. M'Pherson, lal-2 third engineer, has been promoted to second engineer of the Eittawa, and Mr, Lo-.e-joy joined ths vessel as third. Mr. Loasby, who was acting-second of the Kit.ta.wa, has joined the Maori as second engineer in place of Mr. Dalzidl, who is cointr on holiday leave.
Mr. B. Bison has joined the Mapourika as third mate.
The Queen of ths South, camo off the elin yesterday, nnd was recommiesioned. She is to leave for Foxton to-day.
On Sunday nest the Defender is due hero from Lyttelton. Tha vessel will sail for HokiUka. on Monday.
