A DEFENCE RESOLUTION. The resolution passed by tho Palmerston NTorth Chamber of Commerce in support of tho strong attitude taken up by tho Defence Minister (Hie Hon. A. M. Myers) with regard to the anti-militarists, "ana forwarded to_ local bodies and other representative institutions for endorsement, was read nt the Karori Borough Council aieeting last evening. The Mayor remarked that this had the appearance of being a semi-political thing. He did not think
""Well, your Worship," said Councillor Hildreth, "I do not think that this is a ssmi-politica! thing—it is a very important matter." In view of what had been taking place recently, he continued, they should feel it their duty to give an expression of support to the scheme-. He moved that a reply be sent endorsing the sentiments expressed. The motion was seconded and carried.
