The mine manager reports as follows:— During the past week the intermediate level in the No. 1 rise has been advanced -it., making a total of 33ft. to date. The re»f at this point is the full Size of tlis drive, and is of a. firmer class for boring and blasting'. Although no sold has been seen, some sivong sulphides arc to be seen distributed through the quartz. Xo. 1 winze—A start was mads on Wednesday last to drive through the reef at a den'th of 20ft. for the purpose of intersecting the hanging-wall. and so far 4ft. lias been driven. To all appearances I am coming into the portion of the r:ef that carried the values in the level above, as the last round of holes fired exposed some nice sulphide stone with coarse colours of sold distributed through it. Parallel I'eef, south face—Work in this face has been temporarily suspended for the present owing to the level being blocked by the cutting of a chamber for the r)U rno"c of sinking of a. winzo on tho Parallel Reef. This work will require a few more shifts to complete before sinking is commenced. North-west crosscut—This face has been advanced a further distance of 10 feet. ni"V. i n" a total of 98 feet oil the linn of reef.
