(Palmerston North), report:—At our usual monthly sale at liaumai on Tuesday, April 30, we had a fair yarding of both sheep and cattle, despite the .exceptionality xough weather, and quitted all lots'-offercd at the following prices:—Onll ewes, <s. 7d.: small mixed lambs, 3?. 3d. to 6s. led.; bulls. £2 Its.; cows, in calf, £3 75.; weaner heifers, to £2. A very pood line of Jersey Jlolstein crose wcaner heifers realised £3 lCs. e<l.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd. (Masterton), report:—On Tuesday we held a clearing sale on account of Mr. J. A. Kayne. of I'leckvillt. whon we olfered lu's Hock of sheep and dairy herd. We have t.o renort a very cood sale. Herd cows sold from £4 lte. to £8 12s. 6d.. aYernains £6 ss. A line of IC4 2, 4, and 6tooth ewes made ISs.; 200 ditto, made Ms. 7.A.; 2-tooth wethers, 13s. 2d.; cull lambs, ss. ',d.; blackface rams. IS guineas; hacks, ,S6 15s. Cows, on behalf other vendors, made £4 10s. to £6 IC-s.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agauey Co., Ltd. (M,?stf;rton). report that there was a Rood yarding, of both sheep and cattle, and a Rood alleiidanco of buyers at their Mastort-jn tale yesterday. Competition was again keen, and nearly every lot was sold under t-lie hammer at prices well up to previous sales. Forward lambs bromrht from Bs. to 10s. 2(1.; medium, fe. 6d. to' 7s. 9d.; backward sorts. 3s. 6d. t,o 65.: empty ewes. ss. 3d. to 9s. fid • full-mouth owes, fp. lamb, 11s. 2(1.; 2-tooth ewes. 10s. At Westfleld to-day there was an averageyarding of beef, and prices wcro a eliiidc higher than last quotations for very prime ox. Other qualities were about the same as last week. Choice pens of prime ox sold at equal to 265. per hundred; ordinary quality ox, 245. to 205.; caw ond hciler*. 20s. to 235. There was an average yarding of veal, which sold at late rates. An average yardms of sheep sold on a par villi lo.at week's rates. bwes were slightly higher. Heavy wethers fclclu-J 18s. 6d. to 20s. 6d.; medium weights, \os. 6d to 175.; unfinished. Us. 3d. lo 15s. 6d.: heavy owes, 13s. to 15s. 9d.; light cwea and unfinished, Bs. to Us. 6d. There \i-*s onl.y a small yarding of lambs, aim prices wero similar to last quotation. 'flic entries or stock at the Aridinston market to-day were 6omtnvhat smaller than of late, in consequence of the break in tho weather, and there was a Rood demand for almost all classes. Store sheep sold well fat lambs were very firm, thcro was a sharp rise in fat sheep, and fat eattlo 60ld rather better. Fat iiiffs were easier, in consequence of a large yarding. The offering of store theep wns much below the number offered for a considerable time past. Ewes and wethers made up the principal portion, there being but few pens of lambs. Ohathmu Isianci sheen wore well represented, but the class of sheep offered generally was chiefly medium, there being nothing special on offer.
