ST. PAUL'S CHURCH. Th« annual meeting of parishioners of fit. Paul's was held in tho Sydney Street Schoolroom on Monday evening, tho vicar (l!cv. A. M. Johnson) presiding. Tho report and balance-sheet (.already published) \rers adopted, and officers for tho ensuing year elected as follow:—Vicar's warden, Professor Kasterfield; parishioners' warden, Mr. J. W, A. Merchant; vestry, Messrs. E. E. Anderson, Bridges, Shirt--cliffe, Stowo, Hobbs, W. H. Warren, Midland, Jlestayer, W. F. Ward, end Ptontj auditors, Messrs. C. P. l'oirles and C, W Palmer.

There was an improvement of .C 27 in the offertories, which was satisfactory, although the rflport, perhaps a littlo- unfairly, accounted lor this by tho increase in "the number' of services. Tho services, however, were increased four nionthe before the end of last year. It was not tho attendances nt tho ordinary services or tho increase in otlcrturies that counted so much, but the increase in tho number of communicants, and they had had this increase. The work of the Sunday Schools had also progressed satisfactorily, and he congratulate! thoso who had given their services to the work week after week,..tad thought that everything- possible should bo done (o assist them. The adoption of the report and balancesheet, was agreed to. Office-bearers wcro elected as under:— Secretary, Mr. H. T. Tosswell; treasurer, Mr. 11. *M. Stephens; committee, Messrs. Arnold Atkinson, D. Uray, 3. F. Colling ,1. Snoll, G. W. Kturtevont, I. Wiren, and V. B. Willis; auditor, Mr. J. M. Butt. Sir. Millignn moved that step. , ? bo takca to sovcr Kelburne from its connection with St. Peter's parish. Tho motion lapsed for want of n seconder. A further motion was mov«d by Mr. Milligan to the effect that tho incoming committee be instructed not to let the chiirchroom for political meetings. This also failed to find a seconder. Some discussion took place in regard to a suggestion that the churehroom should be enlarged. The matter was left for •tho new committee to consider, mill present a report to a special meeting of parishioners. ST. MARK'S CHURCH, CARTERTON. The annual report of Iho vestry of St. Mark's Church, Cartorton, states that the balance-sheet may be taken as a fair index of the state of the affairs of the parish, and it testifies to un excellent positioii. This was the first balance-sheet ever presented with all liabilities shown as "nil." The amount of general offertories was a record, being .£1159 13s. lid., rs against ,£157 3s. 3d. last year. The general donations show a twenty per cent, increase, a fact, the vestry stato, in no small measure due tatho careful attention Mr. I'cden has given, his duties. The vestry express their thanks to Messrs, Shaw and Colo in gratuiliously providing the collector with a conveyance. During the year the sura of forty pounds was expended in effecting various improvements io tho church, vicaraw. and church grounds, and further improvements are now in progress.
