Strsud waited upon the council and asked that the fence erected on his wife's property in White's Lino bo allowed to remain for the present, upon his undertaking to shift it back to the propel , line as soon as tho council required him to.—Agreed to. Mr. C. Mooro wroto asking the council to extend tho sewerage pipes to serve %ia property in Waterloo Road.—The engineer stated that it would be impossible to extend tho present mains any further along Waterloo Road owing to tho low ground. An entirely separate system vronld have to be installed for the locality. Councillor Kemptlionic was appointed to represent the council at tho conference to consider the Local Government Bill, on The engineer reported that it was estimated that section 5 of the drainage system would cost £2710 3s. Gd. The high estimate was due to the necessity for keeping the drains at a considerable depth. It was not intended to go on with footpath asphalting until nest season.
