ACCOUNTANTS' SOCIETY.
The members nf tho Wellington branch' of the Now Zealand Snnirty of Accountants.met in Die Chamber of Commerce last evening, Iho chairman of the branch (Mr. If. Wilherfoss, I'.P.A.. X.Z.) presiding over an attendance of about CO. A number of the members of the •Wellington Ae.rount.int Students' Society were present by invitation, ond were welcomed by tho clinirmnn, who explained that it was (he desire of th« society to assist tho Students' Society in cvorv way possible. Mr. John 1,. Barton, F.K.A., F.1.A., NX, opened a discussion on the accounts for the vear ended March, 11111. of the Wellington Corporation Tramways. Mr. Barton pro. faced his remarks by slating that tho accounts as submitted by the corporation were the best in form and detail it had been his privilege to inspect. Mr. Barton dealt at some length with variant points in the accounts, illustrating clearly the method of allocation of expenditure. Tho depreciation and sinking fundi were discussed at_ some length.
