MAYORAL ELECTIONS.
MR. PARR CONGRATULATED, (By Teleffraph.-Prcsa Association.) Auckland, April 25, An astonishing widespread feeling of iatisfaction was created by the Tc-election of Mr. C. J. Parr as Mayor of Auckland. This was clearly evidenced to-day when congratulatory messages poured in upon Mr. Parr from all parts of the Dominion, and even from further afield. Amongst those who congratulated the Mayor upon his re-election were the Hon. A. M. Myers, Minister for Railways, and a number of M.P.'s, including Mr. Massey, Leader of tho Reform party, clerics of all denominations, magistrates, public and social organisations, prominent' citizens in various centres of the Dominion, and numberless private persons. In a 11,., between 800 and 400 of these congratulatory messages Teached tho Mayor during the day. A' somewhat quaint comment upon the Wellington Mayoral election, where Mr. D. M'Laren, the Labour representative headed the poll, was contained in a telegram received by Mr. Parr from a prominent Welljngtonian. Having expressed his congratulatory sentiments, tho sender of this message added: "I wish we had you down here," Waihi, April 25. The Mayoral election resulted in the Te-election of Mr, John Newth, who polled 729. Mr. H. Kennedy (Socialist candidate) polled 333 votes. . • Dargaville, April 25.Mr. F. J. Dargaville was re-elected Mayor for a third term. Gore, April 21. The Mayoral election resulted' in Mr. Poppelwell being elected by a majority of 71 over Mr. M'Dougall. Hamilton, April 24. Mr. A. E. Manning has been elected Mayor. Dunedin, April 24. The Mayoral elections here were confined to the suburban municipalities. The results are as follow: — Roslyn. Mr. R. Menzies, 662; Mr. A. Washer, 640; Mr. A. Matheson, 380. St. Kilda.-Mr. S. B. Macdonald, 80-1 j Mr. T. Ashton, 478. Port Chalmers.—Mr. D. A. Demaus, 467; Mr. G. L. Asher, 170. Green Tsland.—Mr. J. Lindsay, 231; Mr. W. Geddes, 223. Waimate, April 24. "Great interest was taken in the poll for the Mayoralty to-day. Mr. Jehu Black (378 votes) was declared elected, his opponent, Mr. W. M. Hamilton polling 330 votes.
