— ■ » Tho Empire Hotel in Willis Street has just undergone extensive alteration. The furnishings have been also been renovated, and there has been a redocoration of tho interior generally, making tho house ono of the most attractive in the city. A new electric, elevator serving all fleors and capable of carrying seven passengers has been installed by Mr. Moult, anil is working satisfactorily. Provision has now been mnde for building another story within tho next twelve months if necessary. A new supper room has been provided by the alterations on tho {.'round fioor, also a luxuriously furnished lounge for both ladies and eentlenipn, and available for private piwt'ps. recentions, afternoon teas, or other similar purpose*.
