SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for southerly winds strong to gale, cold ard boisterous conditions generally, heavy rain in parts, and snow on higher levels. The glass . will probably rise fast everywhere shortly. The centre of the cyclone passed through Cook Strait early this morning. Ileavy rain has fallen in many parts ■ of the country, and snow on higher levels. Heavy westerly gales' were experienced in the north during the night, and the winds have changed to southerly to-day.
