. Invercargill, April 18. Sir Joseph Ward arrived at invercargill last night, and was met by the Mayor, councillors, and prominent citizens, tho reception being o£ a most cordial nature. On t'lio journey south Sir Joseph nam was accorded an enthusiastic reception at Raiclutha, Gore, and Mataura, delivering short addresses at the first and last-men-lioned places. Sir Jo-soph Ward will bo in Invercargill till his departure for Australift on Monday, and in accordance with liis desires tho banquets to bo tendered by the citizens at Invercargill, Gore, and Bluff will bo bold ovor till lus return. In bis remarks at BalcliithafliUU Mataura Sir Joseph Ward referred to the freedom ho now enjoyed and the pleasuiable anticipations he had ol rest aud relaxation in Australia.
