NURSES SUSPENDED.
TROUBLE AT AUCKLAND HOSPITAL. (Bj Telecraoh—Press Association.! Auckland, April 18. Some fcroublo seems to havo occurred within the. ranks of the nursing staff of the Auckland Hospital. On three .separate occasions the baths on the top" flats of the new Nurses' Homo havo been allowed to overflow, with the result that serious daiuago was on each occasion dono to the furniture an deffects of the rooms below. In reports submitted to the Hospital Board this morning, it was stated by both the lady superintendent anil the second engineer, that there was evidenco that the incident was tlio result of a deliberate intent on tho part of somo person or persons. Tlio engineer also reported that tho master valves had been tampered with, so that supplies to this portion of the institution had been interfered with. , x "A letter of protest was also received from live sisters on the top Hat complaining that tlicy had been Suspended beeimso of this occurrence, wild had consequently been hel l up t<> the ridicule of nurses, porters, and patients, their names having bfen placarded in the hall by the matron. Tne chairman said when lie visited tho Hospital on Monday morning there was a regular lake on the sitting-room floor, and it had been there since Sunday morning. , , , .
