Also started: Napier, Arainoho, North .Shore (Auckland), Union (Napier), Gisborne, and Star (Wellington). Won by a length after a good race. Maiden Double Sculls. One mile.— North Shore, 1; Union (Wanganui), 2; Arainoho, .'I. Also competed: Napier, Star, and IJnion (Napier). Won bv a length and a half. Youths' Fours. One mile—Arainoho, 1; North Shore, 2; Union (Wanganui), :i. Also raced: Union (Napier), Napier, and Gisborne. Won by half a canvas after an exciting struggle.Junior Sculls. A protest was entered by North Shore for a foul at the beginning of the race, but it was not upheld.
Junior Double Sculls. One mile.—Arainoho, 1; Star (Wellington), 2; Union (Wanganui), 11. .Also raced: Union (Xapier), Nortli Shore, and Poverty Day. AYon by a length. I'arndon I'ours. One mile and a half.— Wellington, lj Aramoho, 2; Wanganui, a. Also started: Napier, Gisborne, North Shore, anil Union (Napier). Won by a. length and a half. Junior Pairs. One mile—Star (Wellington), 1; North Shore (Auckland), 2. Also started: Napier, Arainoho, and 'Union (Wanganui). "Union came in first, but a protest was entered by Star for a foul just before the finish, and this was upheld, and the first prize awarded to Star, nnd second prize to North Shore. Collins Cup. For competition between the Union (Napier), Napier, Gisborne, and Poverty Bay crews.—Poverty Hay (5 points), 1; Union (3 points), - 2. Union held the cup last year.
