The mannger of the Watchman mi'ne reporter—The No. 1 rise 011 the parallel reef has been advanced a further distance of 7 feet, making a total of ICO feet from the iloor of tho drive. At this point the reef Shows a width of 4 feet in which gold can be easily teen in tho st-onc, and is being saved for treatment. No. 2 liisc: This rise his bom advanced a further distance of 15 feet, making a total of 81 feet risen to date. Although this portion of the re-tf is small, measuring about 12 inches, h of a fair grade, and is being saved for treatment. Parallel llecf: South face hais been advanced 13 feet for the week, making a total of 153 feet to date. The reef for the last few feet has been divided with ribs of sandstone of a good class. At present there are signs of o, big reef making, as there is about 4 feet, of quartz intermixed with sandstone runniiig between two good walls. South-cast Crosscut: This face has been advanced a further distance of 7 feot-. making a total of feet, to date, there being no change to that of my last report. Xort.h-west Crosscut has been advanced a further distance of 11 feet for the week, making a total of 67 feet driven on the , line of reef. At prepicoit tho face is all ; cjuartz, measuring about 5 feet, and occasionally shows gold in the stone. 670 Crossrut: This face is in a total of 22 feet 1 from the side of the drive. The last few feet driven has been pacing '••rough quartz stringers crossing the face at. ritrht angles. Tho country being somewhat t?iniiInr to that encasing the reef being worked, the reef should come to hand in about 8 feet of driving.
