FIRE.

A tiro was discovered shortly after one o'clock this morning in the bakehouse at. the rear of Mr. John Reed's baker shop and dwelling at 127 Taranaki^Street. It appeared that a spark had Rot among a pile of firr-wood which had been left before the oven-door for the morning's firing. The fire was discovered nt an early stage, and extinguished after n liortion of the side wall and roof of the bakehouse had been slightly damaged. The building was owned by Messrs. AVallis Bro=., of Nairn Street. Mr. Reed had an insurance of XGOD on the contents of the premises.
