Beforo long ha hoped that three leaps would connect England and India, and that two mom leaps would provide a connection with Australia. In addition tho Government would, before long, obtain control of all cablo business. GREAT IMPROVEMENTS FORESHADOWED. London, March 13. Tho Association of tho Chambers at' Commerce discussed a resolution in favour of an all-British trans-Atlantic/ cable. Sir John Barran, M.P., on behalf of tho Government, foreshadowed great im provemonts in telegraphy. Tho resolution was withdrawn.
